Houdie earned his name by what he did best as a puppy: escaping from the fenced in yard so he could play with neighbor dogs. Some even say that he mastered the art of opening fenced gates with his bare paws. Houdie is a lover of people and other dogs.  If someone would yell "Squirrel," Houdie would be out in front, leading the pack and you could almost hear him say: "Come on guys, there's a squirrell we have to chase up the tree. Last one there has to eat with the cats!!!"

At eight weeks old, we knew Houdie was a bird dog. His love of retrieving is written all over his face when he brings a bird back to you and drops it into your waiting hand. The wag of his tail signals you that he is ready for the next retrieve and for you to stop goofing around. Houdie is like Paddy: if you put a bowl of food in front of him and toss a bird to retrieve, the bird gets top priority.

Houdie is co-owned with Morey Cannady and we have high expectations of where he will lead us
